Rooted in Rivian’s vision of adventure, utility, and environmental responsibility, this project carries those values forward through a material-led exploration shaped by nature-informed insight and a broader view of material life cycles.

Material opportunities were mapped across sourcing, manufacture, and application
to identify where nature-led insights could best translate across the vehicle.

From this opportunity map, we selected the most relevant material insights for each vehicle zone
and translated them into focused exterior, interior, interaction, and illumination directions.

The material direction initiated here later evolved into 2050: The Naturauts Era,
where I further developed its execution through a more focused independent exploration.

My Contribution
In a four-person team, I established the project’s overarching story and material strategy through research and analysis, defining the cohesive direction for the proposal. I developed and curated digital materials for application across the concept, and completed the final CMF visualization through Substance Designer, HP Z Captis, Substance Painter, Substance Stager, and Blender.
